Morgan and Nimri. Pencil + Sharpie marker + watercolor + white paint pen = <3 I worked two days straight on this, too inspired to leave it alone. It's one of those mental images that grabs you and shackles you to your desk until you've got it out onto paper. I was originally going to go with straight pencil/watercolor for this, but I couldn't get quite the contrast I wanted, so I played around with things until I found...a Sharpie marker in my kitchen drawer. I've never used markers or permanent ink on my art before this, but now I'm in love. It stays put no matter what you throw over the top of it, and works brilliantly with watercolor paper.
