Witty, mischievous, and unerringly optimistic, he is somewhat of a cad, and would likely agree with you if you told him so. With a love for excitement and attention that borders on the absurd, he goes out of his way to distinguish himself from any crowd. He has a smooth way with words–a skill that has saved him from painful, ignominious death countless times. He fostered Faeren in the chaotic year following the Outcast War, and even when Faeren is adopted into the royal family, he still watches out for him like an older brother.
Though arrogant and pleasure-seeking in his spare time, Jason is hardworking and considerate, and takes his job as a soldier seriously. The wayward son of Commander Kaiit, he harbors a loyalty for his country as deep as the bond he shares with Faeren–who, by whatever cloak of morals and modesty, manages to remain unsullied by Jason’s ribald influence. Following Faeren’s untimely disappearance and the rise of Illusionism, Jason quickly earns the honor of knighthood and stands by Falen’s side against the surging tide of a rebellion led by Morgan. He also has somewhat of a playful, ongoing rivalry with the minstrel Semiyar (whom he mockingly calls “Pinstripe”) for the lady Diana‘s hand.
