    MORGAN
    Race: Thauron/Illusionist
    Eye Color: Emerald green
    Hair Color: Raven black
Distinctions: A long scar across his left cheek (given by his mother in a failed attempt to kill him); always wears a black cloak and carries an arsenal of daggers

Bastard son of Ryvan, Morgan is a savage and misguided youth whose unrelenting thirst for power once drove him to lead a rebellion against Silon that nearly shattered the kingdom–and him. Beguiled by the same irresistible force that goaded his proud father to destruction, he was robbed of his victory and his forces by the sacrifice of a young Silene knight, and fell prey to the madness within the dark Forest of Illusions. But for him, and the young knight named Faeren this was only the beginning…

    ~Story~
One of the few ever to escape the poisoned clutches of the Forest of Illusions after stumbling into her shadows, Morgan exists as a creature caught between two worlds–the shifting realm of mortals and the timeless, invariable realm of nature. He takes innately to such a feral existence, adept in the ways of the wilderness into which he was born, and uses his connection with the land to seek and confound those who had driven him to his haunted fate. The Mistress of Illusion‘s tainted influence relentlessly fed the fire of hatred in his heart, a viciously bright flame kindled long ago by the might and prejudice of his enemies.

Shrewd, ambitious and obsessively opportunistic, he resists the siren call of the Forest and instead learns to harness her ancient and vindictive power to raise a new army and reclaim his right to rule. Having gained the Forest’s corrupted ability to deceive with illusions of sight, sound, and sense, he uses a newfound talent for manipulating shadows as both camouflage and as a weapon. As he wanders every corner of the kingdom, his flowing black cloak and trailing shadows are often mistaken for ragged black wings, thus sparking the legend of a Raven Wilderlord and his scavenger army.

His desire to overthrow all monarchy leads him to lay siege to the very heart of the mortal kingdom of Silon and to capture a queen, a woman he had watched from afar and coveted as his own. He takes her not only to serve as a valuable hostage, but also as a means of learning about his enemies and communicating with them. But she is nothing like the timid Silenes he so despises, every bit as wild and cunning as he, and he finds himself captivated by her fearless spirit. He calls her “Nimri,” meaning “wild, beautiful light,” and in a moment that would jeopardize both his life and all of his efforts to bring order to a chaotic world, he betrays the fact that he is fond of her. She uses that fondness to subtly influence his actions toward her, the world, and those she holds most dear.

It is not long before Morgan learns that the Healer has released Faeren, the only being with the power to condemn him and all of his efforts, to return him to a tortured confinement in the unforgiving Forest. Unwilling to lose Nimri and to be caught a second time, he uses all his stealth and tricks to elude and destroy those who hunt him. His actions defy even the Mistress of Illusion herself, though he is physically bound by her laws. By savagely twisting those laws, he aims to grow strong enough to challenge Illusion for his freedom. Unlike Faeren, he is not wholly sustained by her touch. When he and his once-slain rival meet again, the prize at stake will be far greater than the throne of a mortal kingdom, and perhaps even Nimri will be unable to sway the outcome.
