"Fivey Sketches"

A handful of study sketches of the Fifth Doctor that I had completely forgotten about! Stumbled across these in my forgotten scraps folder, so I fixed them up (slightly) to share. Peter Davison’s face is really hard to get right!

The symbols on his face in the middle sketch are inspired by Omega’s mask in the TV ep “Arc of Infinity,” in which Omega’s essence was merged with Five for a time.

The bottom painting is inspired from Five’s very first episode “Castrovalva,” in which he kept falling over and crashing throughout in various ways because Four’s regeneration was terribly wonky and very nearly failed. Talk about post-regeneration sickness/trauma! I angst about Eight a lot, but Five had a pretty rough start, too.
